Sturridge will need to compromise - Owen
3rd January 2013 1:30pm GMT
Ex-Liverpool striker Michael Owen says that the Reds new signing Daniel Sturridge might have to play out of position, as he will not replace Luis Suárez.
Sturridge moved from Chelsea to Liverpool yesterday having fallen down the pecking order at the west London club and being played out of his favoured position.
Sturridge was often played out wide for Chelsea despite preferring a central role.
According to Owen, the England International will have to get used to the same situation at Liverpool due to the quality of Suárez.
"I know he doesn't like playing wide but he might have to play the odd game wide because you're not going to oust Suarez,” the Stoke City forward said.
"I can't see them playing together up front in a 4-4-2 for example so he's either going to have to play wide or come in when Suárez needs a rest."
