Odemwingie fined for Twitter outburst
28th January 2013 9:40am GMT
West Bromwich Albion’s want-away striker Peter Odemwingie has been fined by the club for comments he posted on Twitter.
The Nigerian international handed in a transfer request last week at the west Midlands outfit but the Baggies rejected this immediately.
The forward will now be hit with a two-week fine of approximately £80,000 and admitted that he probably went too far.
“Looked through my tweets. Deleted some. Was too much. Only excuses – home alone, dark, son and wife in hospital, frustrated,” Odemwingie tweeted last night.
The club announced today that they have also rejected a second bid from Queens Park Rangers for the transfer of 31-year-old.
