Liverpool transfers: Club prepare Kiessling bid
30th July 2013 3:07pm BST
Liverpool will rekindle their interest in Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling if Luis Suarez leaves the club.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in the £50 million-rated Suarez.
And SportsDirect News has learned Kiessling has been identified as a potential replacement for the Uruguayan.
The Reds have been tracking the star since 2010 and are now prepared to table a concrete bid.
Although the 29-year-old recently signed a new contract at the Bundesliga club combined with the fact he does not fit into Brendan Rodgers' young players philosophy, the Reds are still prepared to test Bayer’s resolve to keep their prized asset.
He is valued at around £15m, but the German side would be loath to lose another star – with Andre Schurrle already having departed to Chelsea.
